It’s summertime here in the Philippines and everyone is planning a trip outside the Metro to escape the heat. Tagaytay, Baguio and Zambales are the most famous destination, but if you are a beach baby like me (who just learned how to swim properly 😅) well Batangas is the place for you.
Since I’m on a tight budget right now, but itching to go somewhere, I searched for a less expensive destination. I found this Metrodeal promo at Aquaria Water Park located in Calatagan, Batangas. Aside from the beach it has a huge slide and big pools. Aaand off we go.
If you are a commuter coming from Manila you can take the Bus from Coastal Mall going to Calatagan. Route is via Tagaytay – Nasugbu Highway. The travel time is 3 hours so I suggest leaving early.
It was a huge resort with a fun activities, there’s kayaking, jet ski, the giant slide and hmm sleeping if you want to! the beach area is covered with Narra trees, making it more relaxing. How can you not sleep with such ambience? 🙂 Just book for the cottage if you luckily arrived early. We arrived by 12 noon and so we settled with tables.
The beach view is beautiful, but I did not enjoy the beach so much. There were A LOT of jellyfish and I didn’t want to go home with stings 😒. Me and my friends settled with the pools and huge slide. It was so much fun. We still got the value of our money 👌
Manila-Calatagan bus fare – 160
Calatagan-Aquaria(tricyle) – 150
beach tables – 200
food corkage-100/per head
ecological fee- 30
Calatagan-Manila VAN -180
Bus and VAN going back to Manila is only upto 4:30 PM so if you are still planning to do some sunset session (which you should 😍) I suggest you negotiate with the VAN drivers if you are a group traveler. I’m beginning to be a master of it 😆
Have fun with all your travels and keep safe!
